Paris Schools Raise Money for Lupus
|In the month of September, Paris Independent Schools hosted a Lupus Awareness Campaign for the purpose of raising awareness of this disease and supporting those affected by raising funds to help find a cure. Students and staff participated in the "Butterfly Campaign" and all funds raised supported the Lupus Foundation of America, Mid-South Chapter. Retired Professor Speaks to High School about Integration
Dr. Paul Redditt, retired Georgetown College professor, came to speak to Mrs. Mason' s English II classes about his experience at Little Rock Central High during the integration in 1957. Students in Mrs. Mason's English II classes have been reading the novel, Warriors Don't Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals, one of the Little Rock nine who were the first African American students to integrate the high school. Tristan Wilson Named Commended Student by NMSC
||Mrs. Dailey, PHS Principal, announced today that Tristan Wilson has been named a Commended Student in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior. High Expectations for Students
Paris Independent Schools has a long history of providing an excellent education for the children of Paris. Our goal is for all students to graduate with a strong foundation in education as well as life-long appreciation of learning. All Paris schools meet the accreditation requirements of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Paris High School has been accredited since 1915. All teachers have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program as required by state law. The majority of our staff have master degrees or above.
