Meet Our Amazing Staff!!


 
 6th Grade  Math and Science: Michella Hopkins
 
Michella Hopkins is our Middle School Math and Science Teacher. 
She holds a BA degree in middle school education with areas of emphasis in Math and Science from Midway University and a Masters degree from Georgetown College in Instructional Technology. When she is not teaching, Ms Hopkins loves to spend time with family, ride in her jeep and fish. 


6th Grade English/Social Studies: Karrah Ray 
 
 Karrah Ray hold a Bachelor of Science in General Studies and is in her final year of a Master;s program at Morehead State University.her areas of study are Middle School English and Social Studies. In her spare time, Ms. Ray likes to spend time with husband and  19 month  In her spare time Ms Ray enjoys attending church and playing the piano. 

7th & 8th grade Science: Alison Lenhart

  
Alison Lenhart is our 7th and 8th grade Science teacher at Paris Middle School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from Western Kentucky University.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with my family and friends, especially at the lake.  She loves to watch international soccer and follow s her favorite team, FC Barcelona. Additionally, she loved to attend concerts and listening to all different types of music, traveling and reading. Her other hobbies include baking and cooking. 

7th & 8th Grade English: Samantha Roy Brown

Samantha Brown will be the 7th and 8th grade English teacher for the 2019-2020 school year.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education from Transylvania University in 2011 and went on to pursue two Masters degrees from EKU in Teacher Leadership and Literacy P-12 with a Gifted and Talented Endorsement.


7th & 8th Grade Social Studies: Aaron Meadows

Hi! My name is Aaron Meadows. I have been teaching 6th & 7th grade History at Paris Middle for two years. For my third year, I will be teaching Growth and Expansion of Civilization in 7th-grade and US History (1600-1877) in 8th-grade. Prior to becoming a Greyhound of Paris, I was an Eagle of Morehead State University (MSU). I was fortunate enough to play defensive-end at MSU during my undergraduate (09-13) in pursuit of a degree in Criminology. After graduating, I found my true passion was in the classroom. I returned to MSU to receive my Masters in the Arts in Teaching. I am recently engaged to be married to my beautiful fiance, Alyssa. We have one fur-child named Layla and she is almost 5 years old. In the summer months, I enjoy laying tile and working other skilled labor jobs. I am proud to be a part of this great team in Paris Middle School and I look forward to the next chapter. GO GREYHOUNDS!

7th & 8th Grade Math: Beth Miller

Hello! I am Beth Miller and I am a teacher with 30 years of teaching experience, with 1.5 years in Kentucky and 28.5 years in WV. I am a graduate of Marshall University and Marshall Graduate College in Huntington, WV. I look forward to continuing my career at Paris MIddle School and taking part in Summit Learning!! My husband, John and I raise and train American Saddlebred horses and Hackney ponies. His retirement and our subsequent downsizing to just 9 stalls and 6.5 acres is what brought us to this wonderful state. We both are proud to be part of the Paris and Bourbon County communities.


Special Education Staff: Cyndee Cain 

Cyndee Cain is in her 25th year of teaching, ten of which have been in the Paris Independent District. She has taught at all grade levels: elementary, middle and high school. She has been a general education teacher and a special education teacher. She enjoys getting to work in both capacities and looks forward to working collaboratively with other teachers and with students this year. In addition to teaching, she will be an 8th grade mentor & class sponsor.

Special Education Staff: Lori Newton 


My name is Lori Newton and this will be my sixth year teaching at Paris Middle School. I received my BS from Eastern Kentucky University and MAT from the University of the Cumberlands. I am excited to get back to the classrooms with the 6th and 7th grade students and to also be a mentor to 7th grade.When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with loved ones. I also enjoy trail riding, working with/training horses, teaching my dogs new tricks, and doing chores on the farm.

Special Education Staff: Kate Gabriel

Hi! My name is Kate Gabriel and I am the middle and high school FMD special education teacher. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Moderate/Severe Disabilities and Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Kentucky and a Literacy Specialist Master’s Degree from the University of the Cumberlands. This will be my sixth year at Paris and my second year coaching Unified Track.Aside from teaching I have been a nanny for the last 12 years and I am a booth coordinator for the ESPN Networks and both SEC Networks. I enjoy spending time with my family, napping, and swimming. I am excited for all the exciting changes at Paris, this will be a great year!


Agriculture: Shane Norris


Shane L. Norris is our new Agricultural Education Teacher and FFA Advisor. Shane has a vast knowledge of the agricultural industry. He has experience not only in the classroom but from the industry as well. Shane will bring relevant real-world experiences into the classroom; from his experiences working with a local greenhouse operation to his management of a large livestock operation. Students will be exposed to the industry from an industry insider. He received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural and extension education with a minor in animal science from North Carolina State University in 1999. Masters Degree received from North Carolina A&T State University. Before joining the education team at Paris Independent High School, Shane has taught the following courses: Animal Science, Vet Science, Horticulture I and II, Equine Science, Natural Resources I and II, Landscape Design and Management, Turfgrass Management, Small Power, Agriculture Construction, Agriculture Welding, Advance Welding and Construction, Urban Agriculture, AgriScience, and Principles of Agriculture.

Visual Arts: Meghan Courtney



Hi! My name is Meghan Courtney and I teach middle and high school art. I’m starting my second year of teaching and second year with Paris school district. I’m excited to get back in the classroom and continue learning and creating this school year!

Spanish: Jen O'Daniel


My name is Jen O´Daniel, and I´m excited to be joining the team at Paris Independent middle and high schools this year! I was born in Lexington and grew up in Louisville. I lived in Robertson County while completing my BA at Morehead in Spanish, and then lived in Bloomington, IN for five years where I earned an MA in Hispanic Literature and stayed to teach at IUB for a few years. After that I moved back to Louisville where I taught middle school Spanish for nine years and earned my MAT from U of L. I spent the last year in California, where I have a lot of family - it was an amazing year, but I´m happy to be back in Kentucky!My daughter Indigo is 20, lives in Louisville and is a junior at U of L. I love to travel, read, play and listen to music, and grow, cook and eat good food. I look forward to meeting all of you, and thanks for the warm welcome so far!

Health & Physical Education: Rob Bonse


My name is Rob Bonse and am a geographical transplant from Angola, Indiana. After 10 years of federal service as an Army Reconnaissance Team Leader, a Department of Defense Contractor as a Marksmanship Instructor, and traveling the globe exploring 43 of 50 states, 11 countries in Europe and multiple countries in South East Asia I moved to Lexington Kentucky. I completed my BS/BA in Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) and Psychology (Trauma) from Georgetown College in 2013 and currently finishing my last course at the University of Kentucky with an MS in Exercise Physiology (Human Performance). I enjoy peaceful tranquility anywhere miles from any concrete structures or technology. I live in Georgetown with my family.
